Induction into the Feral

Intro Blog Post:
What a day! From writing adventures in a fantasy land to building a business in the real world.

Perhaps there's a way to mix the two? I do love a good mix of business and pleasure. After all, “find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life.” Isn't that the goal?

Inked&Feral… considering myself as an amateur writer with limitless potential… has hit the deadly reality of real world escapism. I've been writing since I was in middle school- I won't say how long ago that was, thank you for not asking. And I'm trying to navigate the world of publishing myself, not just as an author, but as a screenwriter. I just love stories, whether written or played out on stage or on the silver screen. There's no bad way to tell a story.

Just a bad way to publish one, I suppose.

Considering the quagmire of publishers and managers and scammers galore, it's hard picking the right fit.

We might not be the right fit for you, but we'll do our level best not to hook you and leave you, or worse, fill you with false hopes with nothing to show for it.

But as writers ourselves, we know how much of our souls is poured into the works we hope just one other person will enjoy and how daunting it is to let someone else read it. We know the headaches of navigating the world of publishing and trying to market ourselves in the hope of marketing the book.

We know.

Better yet, we know we're not alone.

Will you join us in this adventure? Will you join us in the next?

Maybe not, but then in a world designed for chaos, hoping for fearful conformation, why not stand out?

Why be tamed into submission?

Why be tamed?

Please consider Inked & Feral for your publishing needs.

Thank you,

From the virtual walls of the Inked & Feral hearth it’s nice to meet you. I’d give you a name but in all honesty I have had many. One of my favorites being Allisa Rhipps, the self published author. The other was given to me by three people I love very much, Sara Phillips and I am one of the owners of this communal space.

In the pages that follow you will read of the historic moments or lessons we have learned along our writing journeys, and we hope to share your writing journey with you or to be of some use along the way. If you take anything from this page, I only ask that you remember one thing: That a story is built the same way you would raise a child.

The words that are strung together are threaded with intent and are done so one at a time. The most narcissistic goal I have had since starting this company with one of my closest friends has been the hope to inspire someone out there to break out of their comfort zone. Because I am that basic bitch hopeless romantic that believes real magic can be found between pages.

While we are on the topic of romance, that’s what you will find a theme of in my writing. Sprinkle in the same amount of pretension you detect in these very words, a few liters of emotional devastation (gallons if you’d listen Jen), and set it over a slow burning flame and you have any one of my books in a nutshell.

I believe that each story is a piece of the author and to tell it is to share a piece of yourself and a bit of magic to the world no matter how small the population in that part of the world may be. Where none of my stories have been directly influenced by a specific person or place as a whole, I can tell you every single scenario I have ever thought about had been inspired by someone that I have loved dearly.

That’s the kind of content we are looking for here. We don’t care what you come in, or how deep your pockets are, we want to make it easier for you to put yourself and your inspiration out there. If you have never put words to a page for anything outside of work or academics but you can read people like genius can solve a crossword puzzle, or you can guess the plot of the majority of entertainment you consume, you have found yourself in the best place to be.

Let’s get a little feral, make a little magic, and put some ink on the page.

Interpreting sanity for the possibly insane,
